For years I have been eating organic granola to aid in recovery from long runs or rides. But recently I have found that the commercial brands have been packing their cereal and granola boxes with mounds of processed sugars and preservatives that result in making these healthy post workout meals turn into a post workout dessert.

The sliced almonds are packed with protein and magnesium, which both aid in muscle recovery. Cinnamon aids in inflammation reduction as well as helps relieve muscle soreness. Finally, the rolled oats and blueberries provide essential antioxidants for the body.
Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup dried blueberries
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup honey
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
